UNC Chapel Hill – Winston Salem Clinical Lecture Series Programs 2017- 2018
Wednesday, 10am – 12pm at Northwest Area Health Education Center, Deacon Tower Learning Center 475 Deacon Blvd., Winston-Salem, NC 27105

  1. September 6 –  HIV/AIDS in North Carolina: Policies, Practice, and Partnerships to Improve Care, with Lisa de Saxe Zerden, MSW, PhD
  2. October 4 – Substance Use Disorders for the Non-SUD Professional, with Michael McGuire, LCSW, LCAS, LMFT, CCS, MINT
  3. February 7 – Cultural Competency and Ethical Decision-Making, with Bonita H. Porter, MSW, LCSW
  4. April 4 – Creating Safe Spaces – The Ethics of Competent Clinical Practice with our LGBTQ+ Clients, with Michael Thull, LCSW.

Continuing Education:  2 hours

Fees:   $25.00 per CLS Workshop; Workshops are free of charge to current students, faculty, staff, and field instructors of UNC-CH School of Social Work (discount taken during online registration)

Information on Continuing Education:

Each Winston-Salem Clinical Lecture Series event provides the following credit:   2.0 Contact Hours from Northwest AHEC, 2.0 contact hours of (Category A) continuing education for North Carolina psychologists, 2.0 contact hours from the North Carolina Substance Abuse Professional Practice Board.Northwest AHEC, ACEP No. 5465 and UNC School of Social Work, ACEP No. 6642 are cosponsors of this program. This co-sponsorship has been submitted for approval to NBCC. Both ACEPs are responsible for this program, including the awarding of NBCC credit.

*No partial CE’s will be given. Participants must attend the entire program in order to receive CE’s*
