The UNC Clinical Lecture Series and Institutes are committed to providing high quality, diverse, inclusive & accessible continuing education for all.  

These training events bring together students, academic faculty, field faculty, area clinicians, along with others interested in evidence-based practice. The School of Social Work at the University of North Carolina supports these programs to strengthen collective learning, promote quality of life, bridge theory and best practices, and foster community relationships.

Clinical Lecture Series – Mondays 12-2pm at UNC Chapel Hill School of Social Work

The Monday CLS lunchtime program, in its 12th year,  offers learning opportunities for students along with continuing education for graduates and other area practitioners in areas of direct practice. These meet monthly on Mondays from 12-2pm in the Tate-Turner-Kuralt Auditorium. Focus on Family & Disability Series – Tuesdays 12-2pm at UNC-CH School of Social Work

The Tuesday Focus on Family and Disability Seminar series, in its 3rd year, serves as a forum to educate diverse audiences about current issues, policies, research and evidence-based approaches in health, education, and disability to improve outcomes for children with disabilities/special needs and their families. Winston-Salem Clinical Lectures – Wednesdays 10 am – 12pm

The W-S Clinical lecture series, begun in 2012, is a partnership between the University of North Carolina School of Social Work and Northwest Area Health Education Center.

Contact Hours NBCC (provider #6642) The UNC School of Social Work is an NBCC-Approved Continuing Education Provider (ACEPTM) and may offer NBCC-approved clock hours for events that meet NBCC requirements. The ACEP solely is responsible for all aspects of the program.  

Each clinical lecture is co-sponsored by the North Carolina Psychological Association and the UNC School of Social Work. The North Carolina Psychological Association is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The North Carolina Psychological Association maintains responsibility for this program and its content. Each workshop is offered for a specified number hours of continuing education credit.

No partial credit will be given. Participants must attend the entire program in order to receive credit.

Transportation: The most reliable place to park is in the UNC Hospital lot on Manning Drive. Parking fee is $1.50/ hour. There are also numerous “park & ride” locations in Chapel Hill, with free bus service to (or near) the School of Social Work. Directions.
